Sky Flying By is a primarily solo project of Boston US based David Palmer, with frequent contributions from more talented artists. Starting out as a basement hobby in the early 2000's, releases came in the form of random MP3s posted for a few friends so they could hear half finished songs.
Over the years the music has evolved, and fully formed releases are produced embracing minimalist tendancies and favoring more classical forms of composition. One thing always remains constant, the love of drums and percussion in that was the first instrument picked up by David. Guitars, bass, piano, synthizers and others followed along in due time, but each album typically features lots of drums and percussion.
Sky Flying By fuses acoustic instruments with electronic elements like synths, drum machines and samples so that the lines are often blurred between what's "real" and what is electronic. Sound is sound, and if it works in a composition it doesn't matter what generated it.
